The Dordogne is where Jerome and Aurore have decided to open the doors of Le Chabrot.
The 'Chabrot' is the practice of adding wine to the soup and then drinking the mixture! This is a French countryside traditon that is practised in Dordogne as well as throughout France.
The restaurant, as its name suggests, offers traditional French dishes for you to discover or rediscover whilst at the same time giving you the assurance of fresh, local produce.
Here you will find such age-old favourites as calf's head, sweetbreads, confit of duck or pig's trotters...
You will also find complex dishes specific to the local area such as foie gras and truffle ravioli, veal steak d'Echourgnac and smoked lamb with thyme.
The restaurant's menu changes four times a year to take advantage of seasonal produce. It is a deliberately small menu to enable us to offer special home-cooked dishes. Whilst we do not make the bread, cheese or ice cream, we source these items locally.
Welcome to Le Chabrot, whose objective it is to ofer you high - quality food prepared on our premises.
